Sports Club Villa now have a leg into the second round of the Caf. Confederations cup after outclassing Zanzibar’s JKU FC by a whooping 4-0 at the Namboole national stadium on Saturday 12th.
Ndera opened the floodgates just after nine minutes before Mike Sserumaga added the second in the 34th minute.
Kasumba and Lwesibawa finished the business in the second half.
First Half Action
The hosts rolled the game in quite an attacking spirit with Misi Katende picking a throw- in after Sserumaga’s failed dribble inside 30 seconds, then sent to Lwesibawa who dinked in a cross from the right but Waziri Suleiman blocked it for a corner with three blue shirts sliding in the net.
Lwesibawa who started in the right flank, pulled another quick cross into the box direct to Umar Kasumba but the recipients header wasn’t good enough to open the lead.
The right winger adjusted his package and delivered a clinical low cross which found Ndera in open space inside the box for the first in the ninth minute.
Mike Serumaga doubled the score in the 34th minute from a beautiful direct corner. The kick came after Ambrose Kirya’s shot from the opposite side was tipped over by Abdulrahim.
The islanders had their stoic defense to blame for conceding a quick goal from a counter just at the restart of the second period.
Villa started the attack from the left wing which snaked through to Sserumaga who set up Lwesibawa. The winger then dummied two Zanzibar defenders and tapped a beautiful long rabona kick from the edge of the box to find Ndera who returned the ball back into play for Kasumba to head in.
The Jogoos completed the rout at the stroke of the hour from another pacey telepathic interplay between Sserumaga and Muleme that ended up to Lwesibawa who calmly chested down and sent in a powerful pile driver.
JKU FC now need to score at least four goals in the second leg to be played on Friday 18th at Azam stadium in Zanzibar for a chance to progress.
The aggregate winner plays either FUS Rabat (Morocco) or UMS De Loum from Cameroon. The two played to a one all in Yaoundé on Friday.
