At least seven judges of the High Court have taken oath at Entebbe State House.
President Museveni, who presided over the low-key ceremony, urged the judicial officials to uphold integrity and dispense justice fairly.
The new Judges include Anne Mugenyi Bitature, a former Assistant Commissioner in Uganda Revenue Authority and UPDF.
Others are Ketra Katunguka, an official at the Justice Ministry; Kawumi Kazibwe, a private city lawyer; Flavian Zeijja (Makerere University Business School lecturer); Anthony Ayuko Ojok; Susan Okalany (senior principal state attorney) and Stephen Mubiru (LDC lecturer).
Their inauguration ends the recruitment process spearheaded by the Judicial Service Commission last year to replace those who were elevated to higher courts.
ChimpReports understands the judges will be sent to different areas by Principal Judge Yorokamu Bamwine.
Uganda has 50 out of the required judges, leading to case backlog.
