President Yoweri Museveni has urged the out going Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Uganda Dr. Jamal bin Abdulaziz Raffa, to come back to Uganda and invest in the economy of the country especially in the sector of fruit processing, such as pineapple   and also cash crops like coffee, among others, in order to enhance Uganda’s capacity in the processing industry.

Museveni was speaking in a meeting he held with Dr. Jamal bin Abdulaziz Raffa, who called on him at State House Entebbe this afternoon to take leave of him as he concludes his tour of duties in the country.

The President and his guest exchanged views on possible opportunities that can lead to the promotion of Uganda’s tourism sector to international level.

Museveni further asked the outgoing envoy to solicit and attract entrepreneurs who can invest in the building of tea processing factory in Uganda.

He assured the envoy that the government will give that entrepreneur land for the factory in Luwero district.

The outgoing Saudi envoy said that he is interested in establishing factories in Uganda for pineapple and coffee processing.

He noted that Uganda is rich and only requires organised tourism promotions to attract more tourists.
