Uganda Cup 2017
Semifinal (First Leg)
Paidha Black Angels 2-0 Sadolin Paints

Paidha Black Angels kept their hopes of playing in their maiden Uganda Cup final afloat with a hard fought victory against Sadolin Paints.

In a game watched by a mammoth crowd at the Bar Okoro stadium in Zombo district on Saturday, the black angels edged past Uganda Premier League side Sadolin Paints.

The home side needed a surge in the second half to go past a resilient Sadolin Paints, eventually winning the game 2-0.

Emmanuel Rubangakene converted a penalty to give Paidha the lead before Okumu doubled the lead moments later.

The result meant Paidha take the advantage ahead of the return leg next week at Mandela national stadium.

Paidha are seeking to play in their first ever final in the Uganda Cup and becoming the second team from the Fufa Big league to play in the finals after Onduparaka last year.

Paidha have been in scintillating form in the competition including eliminating holders Vipers at the quarter final phase in Kitende.

The other semifinal fixture has record champions Express and KCCA FC albeit the dates are yet to be communicated.

This year’s final is slated to take place on 27th May at Betway Greenlight stadium in Arua, West Nile.
