
The 2016 Pepsi Boys’ school cricket week gets underway this Saturday at different cricket ovals in Kampala as various schools fight for prestige.
The games will be played at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Kyambogo cricket oval and Buddo cricket oval among others.
After qualifiers last month, twelve schools will compete at this year’s edition including debutants Rainbow International School and Teso College Aloet.
Pepsi the official sponsors have continued their support towards the tournaments for the sixth year this time round with a package of UGX 12M that will cater for prize money and medals. In addition, for the first time the winner will walk away with a shield.
Bankstown Cricket Club in Sydney,Australia will for the second time be equipping the participating teams with the necessary kit.
Defending champions Busoga College Mwiiri will be seeking to win the competition for the third straight year. But this will not come easy with other contenders beefing up their team. Mukono Parents,winners in 2013 have acquired national all rounder Joseph Nsubuga.
Busoga College are the defending champions after defeating Kololo S.S last year by over 30 wickets.
The one week tournament will start on 3rd and end on 9th September.
