The South Sudan rebel leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon has finally landed in the country’s capital Juba which he fled in December 2013 and launched a rebellion.
Dr. Machar left Gambella airport in Western Ethiopia at 2 PM and arrived in Juba and at 3 PM East African standard time.
Machar was briefly rushed to the State House where he is expected to take oath for the First Vice President.
The arrival of Machar had been postponed six times in one week. Dr. Machar secretly left Juba on the night of 15th December 2013 when he bitterly disagreed with President Salva Kiir during a SPLM party national conference at the capital.
