
Kawempe Muslim and Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals have made it into this year ‘ final.
In the playoff games played at Philip Omondi stadium on Wednesday, Kawempe Muslim and UCU Lady Cardinals edged past Olila Women FC and Uganda Martyrs respective to reach the finals.
UCU Lady Cardinals edged past League debutants Uganda Martyrs High school Rubaga 2-1 in the first semifinal.
Skipper Maureen Kinavudori and an own goal from defender ensured UCU led 2-0 but Uganda Martyrs came recharged in the second period with Resty Nanziri pulling one back.
However, UCU Lady Cardinals held on to eventually win the game and reach their first ever final.
In the second game of the day, reigning best female footballer, Hasifa Nassuna scored a brace to help Kawempe reach their third consecutive final.
The brace meant Hasifa Nassuna has so far scored 26 goals this season with a game to play.
Kawempe will now take on UCU Lady Cardinals in the finals on Sunday. The two teams played in the same group (Elizabeth group) in regular season.
Olila Women FC and Uganda Martyrs High school Rubaga will battle for the 3rd place playoff.
