Uganda Cup 2017 Semifinal – return leg
Sadolin Paints 2-1 Paidha Black Angels
Paidha advance 3-2 on aggregate
Paidha Black Angels became the first team to reach this year’s final of the Uganda Cup after eliminating Sadolin paints on aggregate over the two legs.
After winning the first leg 2-0 at home, Paidha seemed to have had the contest done and dusted. However, Sadolin Paints had other thoughts and the return leg provided the platform.
In the game played at Mandela national stadium, the painters made a temporary comeback taking charge in the opening 45 minutes of the game to level the score with 2 goals.
Experienced forward Karim Nduggwa rose to the occasion to grab a first half brace as Sadolin surged forward and dominated proceedings.
However, midway through the second period, the visitors got the vital away goal through Fred Emaku that sent the travelling fans into wild celebrations.
Emmanuel Rubangakene did the donkey work sending a thunderous effort just outside the area and goalkeeper Hilbert Hatimu failed to deal with the strike thus giving chance to Emaku to fire home the rebound.
Paidha Black Angels now await the winner between KCCA FC and Express to determine their opponents in the final scheduled for 10th June at the Greenlight stadium in Arua district.
