Makerere University controversial scholar and researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi has threatened to undress in protest once again if the university does not suspend her senior, Prof. Mahmood Mamdani.
Dr. Nyanzi wrote on her social media on Sunday; “If the Appointments Board at Makerere University does not suspend Mahmood Mamdani, I will undress at the Freedom Square in protest against this board’s exoneration of his hand in creating the rot at MISR (Makerere Institute of Social Research).”
A week ago, the researcher caused a stir at Makerere university when she stripped naked in front of the press in protest against what she called Prof. Mamdani’s ‘oppression and intimidation’.
Following the ugly scene which largely smeared Makerere University’s intellectualism with filth, the Management ordered for the re-opening of Dr. Nyanzi’s office however days letter, she was suspended.
“Mamdani sodomized my contract as a Research Fellow by forcing me to teach. Mamdani raped the Human Resources policy by killing all premiere levels of appeal against staff victimisation,” her Sunday post further read.
“Mamdani overstepped his pay-check by evicting me from my office in this public institute. Mamdani raised his middle finger to the Deputy Vice Chancellor who stayed the eviction. And Mamdani was insubordinate to the Committee that summoned him to explain the MISR saga.”
Dr. Nyanzi demands for equal justice from the university’s Management by reprimanding Prof. Mamdani who heads MISR for his actions against her.
“Rather than penalise Mahmood Mamdani for variously injurying me, the Appointments Board suspended me. I am going to undress myself at the Freedom Square of Makerere University, if Mahmood Mamdani is not suspended in equal measure.”
The standoff between the two academics has since created two factions at MISR and the public; one that condemns Prof. Mamdani for personalizing the institute and the other faction that criticize Dr. Nyanzi for her extreme behavior and insurbodination.
