Makindye General Court martial chairman Lt Gen Andrew Gutti has remanded to Makindye Military Baracks Prison Lance Corporal Musa Tembo, 34, a UPDF soldier attached to AMISOM Mission in Somalia
Tembo, who appeared calm as the charges were read to him, is being accused of failure to protect war materials.
Prosecution alleges that on 16th February 2016 at Ballawe in Somalia, the accused was found in illegal possession of 21 rounds of ammunition of SMG as well as 47 rounds of a PK gun.
He told court that clearly understood the charges against him but pleaded not guilty.
The state Prosecutor Major Raphael Mugisha informed court that investigations in the matter are still ongoing and sought an adjournment.
This matter has been adjourned to 15 May 2017 for mention.
