One of the three men that ruled Uganda under the Presidential Commission in 1980, Mzee Wacha Olwol has died at the age of 94.
According to family sources, Wacha Olwol, the leader in the interim government of three presidents from May to December 1980, died on Tuesday morning at Kadic Hospital in Kampala.
ChimpReports has learnt that leaders from Lango sub-region are set to meet the Prime Minister, Dr. Rhuakana Rugunda at 11am to discuss burial arrangements for Wacha, who is now considered the former titular head of state entitled to emoluments and benefits.
The Chairperson, Lango Parliamentary Group, Felix Okot Ogong confirmed the development when contacted on phone.
“We have informed the government about the passing on of Mzee Wacha Olwol and a meeting has already been arranged at the Office of the Prime Minister. More information concerning the funeral shall come later,” Okot said on phone.

Mzee Wacha and Judges Saulo Musoke and Nyamuconco became the Presidential Commissioners after the overthrow of Idi Amin and political confusions that followed. The military headed by Paulo Muwanga and deputized by Yoweri Museveni had overthrown Godfrey Binaisa.
The Members of the so called Presidential Commission were sworn in by the Chief Justice as Heads of State and lived at State House.
It should be noted that the responsibilities of the trio was more of ceremonial and the real powers were in the hands of head of Military Commission, Paulo Muwanga.
