KCCA FC in Final Push for Group Stage Pursuit

Kampala Capital City Authority football club (KCCA FC) are just 90 minutes away from having their dream come to a reality.

After earning a late gasp victory in the first leg last weekend and carry the lead ahead of the return leg at Ismailia stadium on Saturday.

KCCA FC target is to make the group stages of this year’s Total CAF Confederation Cup and head coach Mike Mutebi believes his team has what it takes to attain their target.

“We have prepared very well and everyone is positive ahead of the game. We have the confidence that we can get a positive result in Egypt and proceed to the groups,” he said.

“I believe if we qualify for the group stage, that will be a foundation in our target of building a formidable team that will compete on the continent,” Mutebi added.

Team captain Denis Okot also coincides with his coach and he is confident they can negotiate past Al Masry.

“We have a mission that we must fulfill here in Egypt and that is qualifying to the groups. The players are set, focused and ready to deliver to their maximum,” Okot noted.

KCCA FC welcome back several players who have been sidelined. Habib Kavuma who was suspended for the first leg returns for this clash.

Timothy Awany also has recovered from a groin injury in time and will be available for selection.

Midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba who sustained q cut on his head in the first leg has recovered.

Derrick Nsibambi scored the lone goal in stoppage time to give KCCA FC a 1-0 victory in the first leg at Phillip Omondi stadium.
