The beauty about knockout tournaments is that they present shocking results at any stage or level.
And it was not any different on Sunday as defending champions Vipers and last year’s runners up Onduparaka went out crushing.
Vipers suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Fufa Big League side Paidha Black Angels.
Fred Ameko scored the lone goal of the game at the half hour mark to condemn Vipers to the first defeat at the newly constructed St. Mary’s stadium.
This is the first time that Paidha Black Angels are reaching the semifinal stage.
In the other game played, Sadolin Paints also booked a berth into the semifinals with a hard fought 2-1 win against last year’s finalists Onduparaka in the game played at Mandela National stadium.
Fred Kyambadde and Nasser Sserwadda scored for the painters while Caesar Okhuti pulled one back for the caterpillars.
Onduparaka goalkeeper Richard Anyama took to his social media account to take full responsibility of the exit indicating his performance was below standard and asked for forgiveness from the fans, teammates and technical team.
