
Uganda Cranes and Mamelodi Sundowns first choice goalkeeper Dennis Masinde has been ruled out for a month after sustaining an injury.
Onyango picked up a knee injury on Saturday as Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Bidvest Wits 2-0 at Loftus Versfield playing just 23 minutes and was replaced by Wayne Sadlands.
Masandawana head coach, Pitso Mosimane confirmed that the 2016 best footballer based in Africa will be out close to a month.
“Denis (Onyango) is out. He is on crutches,” Mosimane revealed to kickoff magazine.
Onyango joins the long list of injuries at Mamelodi Sundowns including Liberian forward Anthony Laffor and influential playmaker Khama Billiat who are also expected to be on the sidelines for a month.
Defender Anele Ngcongca is the other player that is out injured and the quartet are likely to miss the tie with KCCA FC in the CAF champions league with the first leg slated for 11th March before a replay in a week’s time.
Sundowns who have been in sublime form return to action on Tuesday against Chippa United and a win for them will draw them on same points (32) points as leaders Super Sport.
