Dr Brian Twinamatsiko, the Rubanda district Acting Director of Health Services (DHO) has quit the job citing nonpayment for the last six months.
Dr Twinamatsiko, who has been the In-charge of Hamurwa Health Centre 4 in Hamurwa Town Council, was appointed in the district position after the operationalization of Rubanda district.
He says however, that he has not been receiving his salary since appointment six months ago.
His exit not only crippled work at the district but also left many patients stranded as he was the only doctor at Hamurwa Health Centre 4.
Some of the patients were forced to go to Muko Health Centre which is about 20 kilometers away to get services.
Kenneth Biryabarema Jogo, the Rubanda district LC5 chairman however, says Dr Twinamatsiko quit after getting a better job in Kampala.
He said the salary payment problem has been general and didn’t affect the DHO alone but all district workers.
