
The National Resistance Movement party Deputy Secretary General, Richard Todwong who was injured by a bullet on Saturday evening has been airlifted to Kampala.
ChimpReports broke the story of Todwong’s injury in the northern district of Gulu on Sunday morning.
We also reported that Todwong’s elder brother, Maj. Gen. Charles Otema Awany who is the UPDF Reserve Force Commander had organized a helicopter gunship to airlift the injured ruling party official to the capital Kampala for better medical attention.
Sources in Gulu told this reporter that a military chopper landed at Gulu airfield which is near Todwong’s home in Bardege Division at 9am and he was immediately put in the plane amidst heavy security.
“He was finally picked from here at 9am,” a source in Gulu who asked not to be named said.
ChimpReports has learned that International Hospital Kampala in Namwongo has been booked do a specialized operation on Todwong’s lower left leg that the bullet struck.
He was initially admitted at Gulu Independent Hospital in Gulu town.
