Just about a week into the first school term of 2017, parents in Kagadi district have blocked another government school head teacher from accessing the school premises accusing him of incompetence.

These referred to the school’s poor performance in the recently P.L.E results.

Sese Government Aided Primary School in Kenya village Kagadi sub-county Kagadi district came last in the UPE exams in the district, which incensed the parents.

The school did not register any first grade or a second grade. Out 15 candidates who sat exams, three passed in Div 3, two in Div 4, eleven in Div U and one in X.

Selestiano Mwesigye, the School Chairman School Management Committee and Adolf Tibeyalirwa the School Parents Teachers Associations (PTA) Chairman lead the operation on Tuesday morning where parents locked the school gate, barring the head teacher John Kibuuka and other six staff members from accessing the school compound.

These first attempted to force their way in but were overpowered by the angry parents.

The PTA chairperson Tibeyalirwa said they have been lenient enough with teachers’ bad behaviors.

He said they have now hired S4 and S6 leavers to assist them until the ministry of education brings in new staff.

At the school, some of the hired staff were seen in classes teaching the pupils.

John Kibuuka is the second head teacher in a couple of weeks to be locked out of office in the district.

Recently the Rutooma Government Primary School head teacher Obadiah Turyomugyendo was also rejected by parents under similar circumstances.
