Kigezi New Bishop Shuffles Clergy

Rt. Rev. Benon Magezi, the newly consecrated Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese has made a reshuffle among the clergy, transferring promoting and retiring some of them.

This comes just three weeks after his consecration as the fifth bishop of the diocese of North Kigezi, replacing Rt. Rev. Patrick Tugumetusingwire on 8th January 2017.

Bishop Magezi made the announcement of the changes on Wednesday during his first diocesan council meeting held at St. Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano; where Rev Amos Katushabe was transferred from the education department and replaced with Rev. Ivan Mwongyera as diocesan education secretary

Rev. Ronald Natuhwera who has been Prisons’ Chaplain was promoted to Diocesan Development Officer.

Rev. Sheila Nayenda from Kagati Parish was transferred to the diocese as Assistant Cashier.

Others are:

Elidard Rukuru from Rweshama to Kyabagyerwa

Rev Charles Bakeihahwenki from Burombe to Kagati

Bernard Akankiiza from All Saints’ Church as curate to Kabingo

Rev. Dick Kakanyisa from Kinyasano Girls as chaplain to Rwabukoba Church of Uganda

Rev. Kenneth Karyaija from Bucence to Kyatoko

Rev. Charles Turyamureba from Kyatoko to Bucence

Rev Benon Akankwatsa from Kashenyi as chaplain to Kitaziguruka Church of Uganda

Rev. Eric Karekyezi from Omurusheshe to Karuhembe

Rev Johnson Bwekwatso from Karuhembe to Omurusheshe

Rev Baram Buhikire from Kanyanga to Rugarama Health Centre as chaplain

Rev. Zadoki Tindiwegi from Bugarama to Nangara

Isaac Beinomugisha from Nyakinengo to Ndago

Patrick Tumwesigye from Ndago to Kakomero

Rev Bernard Mwesigwa who has been on leave was taken to Rweshama COU

Rev Ivan Matongo who was on forced leave was also taken to Kanyanga.

And Rev Andrew Kananura who was moved from Kyamakanda as chaplain to Rwenyangi

Those who retired due to old age are John Bahisya from Kabingo, Rev Eric Tugume of Nyakabungo,  John Twine from Mutooma, Sam Nkora from Kitazigurukwa and Rev Turinawe Bernard from Masya.
