The police officer who on Thursday morning shot dead his wife before turning the gun onto himself might have planned the killing according to some documents found at his home.

In the wee hours of Thursday, 36 year old Godfrey Sabiti, a police officer attached to the VIPP unit and staying in Nsambya barracks   shot his wife Carol Akol dead before shooting himself as well.

According to a hand written will left behind by the policeman, he had knowledge of something that was coming up in the next few days.

“I hereby acknowledge writing my will when sober due to uncertainties that may come my way, says part of the will written by the police officer on January 29, 2017, only 3 days to his death.

According to his will, he had given his plot of land to his 3 children aged 7, 3 and 2 years; that he had from 2 different wives the deceased Akol inclusive.

In the will, the police officer ordered that his ‘gratuity’ from Public Service be collected and shared among his 3 children for their welfare.

“All my children should be handed over to my parents to cater for them,” read the will.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Emilian Kayima said they suspect there could have been misunderstandings between the officer and his wife leading to the shooting.

“We think there could have been a long misunderstanding but we have started investigations into the matter,” Kayima told journalists.

Kayima urged that in case of misunderstandings, the parties involved ought to seek for advice and support .
