Col Dr Kizza Besigye has vowed not to return before the Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court where he is being charged with Treason.
Besigye has been appearing before the same court since his release on bail in June last year, as prosecution seeks adjournments claiming investigations in his case are still ongoing.
The four time presidential candidate is charged with treason for declaring and swearing himself in as Uganda’s president following the February 2016 elections.
Besigye says if it turns out today that prosecution has not competed investigations in this matter, he will not return to the same court.
He tweeted this morning, a photo of himself awaiting the Magistrate, stating “It’s a last time to appear in this court if investigations in treason case continue!”
During his previous appearances at the same court, Besigye has continuously complained of State’s ploy to drain his resources and waste his time by forcing him to repeatedly appear before court for no reason.
He once suggested that state drops the charges to first investigate the case fully so that he can be charged again when they have all the evidence.
