The Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has hailed the International Community of the Banyakigezi (ICOB-U) for what he called its commendable efforts in supporting technical education in the Kigezi Sub region.

Dr Rugunda said government was proud of the association – which unites Kigezi people in and out of the country – for equipping people with essential vocation skills.

“ICOB is doing the job better than some NGOs that keep talking without any good work to show,” said the Primer.

Dr Rugunda expressed his gratitude last Friday while closing a 3 day ICOB Convention that was taking place at White Horse Inn in Kabale under the theme “Bringing ICOB to the people”.

The Prime Minister revealed that government’s plan has always been to have a technical school in every constituency in the country, stressing that the future of Ugandans depends on what we can do with our own hands.

Dr. Rugunda revealed that the Government has borrowed money from the Islamic Development Bank to build a new technical centre at Mulago National Referral Hospital as one way of reducing the number of mothers who die while giving birth.
