Onduparaka skipper Muhammad Shaban has revealed all his attention at the moment is working hard to make sure he makes the final 23- man squad that will represent Uganda at the 2017 African cup of Nations.

Shaban indicates he has been working extremely hard since the team started residential training on Monday and believes everyone in camp is focused.

“We have been training extremely hard as a team and everyone is committed and focused on becoming better,” said Shaban.

The reigning Fufa male footballer of the year intimated to ChimpSport after Friday’s mid-morning training session at Kabira Country club that his prime target at the moment is to make the final squad to Gabon.

“At the moment I’m focused at impressing the coach in training so that I could be considered for the final squad that will play at African cup of Nations,” he stated.

“Of course it is not easy, at my age but I have received overwhelming support from the senior players and everyone on the team which has helped settle in easily,” said the teenage striker.

Shaban has had wonderful performances this year for his club (Onduparaka) which prompted Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic “Micho” to call him on the national team.

Micho is expected to trim the team from 29 players currently in camp to 20 after today’s evening training session.
