Uganda Cranes have regained one place in the latest Fifa rankings released on Thursday 22 December to climax the year on position 72 in the world. The rise comes despite the team’s inactivity during the past one month.
The Cranes had dropped one place to 73 in the month of November with 488 points but have now accumulated 490 through the accumulative system.
On position 18 in the African continent, the team is still ranked highest in the Cecafa region. Kenya remains static on 89th while Rwanda makes news for making the biggest move both by points and ranks.
The Amavubi have gained a whooping 37 points to leap from 101 to 92.

The Pharaohs of Egypt remain the highest ranked team in the group sitting on 36 in the worldwide and fourth in Africa behind Senegal, Ivory Coast and Tunisia. Ghana and Mali follow closely on 53 and 60.
Argentina takes the assumes the ‘team of the year’ title from Belgium who dropped to the fifth place as Brazil, Germany and Chile take the other respective top four positions.
