The Cranes made a relatively decent start with Dennis Iguma making the first attempt at the second minute though went wide.
Vipers Captain Nicholas Wadada made good runs in the first period though they bore no fruits. The right back appeared to have received his first card in the 22nd minute for a sliding tackle on Achiempong but was lucky not to be sent off. Uganda will host Congo in the second qualifiers on November 12th at Namboole while Ghana travel Egypt a day after.
The other group E clash will see Congo hosting Egypt on Sunday 9th in Kitente.
