A fundraising campaign has been kickstarted in Jinja, to raise 110million shillings for Busoga’s veteran journalist and radio host Brenda Gimbo, who needs neurosurgery in India.
Gimbo who has since last year been battling illnesses says last month Doctors at Mulago National Referral Hospital found a tumor on her brain in the zone where all sense neurons meet.
Gimbo, a former employee of Kiira FM and Victoria FM (both in Jinja) where she served both as a news anchor and presenter, is a single mother of four.
According to Stanley Bukenya, Gimbo’s brother, the doctors at Mulago hospital advised them to fly their patient to India before the end of this year because the tumor has attacked the most sensitive area.
Through Agafeno Whatsapp Group, a number of activities have now been planned to help in mobilizing the required resources.
