
Uganda rugby 7s team are champions of the Rugby 7s Africa cup after defeating Namibia in the finals played on Saturday at Safaricom stadium, Kasarani in Nairobi.
Uganda defeated Namibia 38-19 to be crowned champions and also book the final slot at the HSBC 7s series in Dubai.
Tries from Pius Ogena, Phillip Wokorach, skipper Eric Ssebuliba, Marvin Odong, Okias and Lawrance Ssebuliba ensured Uganda sailed past the Namibians. Wokorach stepped to make Uganda’s conversions
Earlier on, Uganda defeated bitter rivals Kenya who were the defending champions to reach the semifinals while Namibia overcame Madagascar.
The rugby cranes drew first blood take an early lead and went ahead to lead 26-12 at halftime before completing the job in the second period.
