EASS: Kitende Through to Finals as Kibuli Falter Again

St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende are on course to their twelfth regional title after overcoming Kenya’s Bukembe School by 2-0 on Friday in a semi final match in the ongoing East Africa school games in Eldoret Kenya.

Francis Onekalit continued his scoring exploits after scoring the lone goal that booked the semis spot on Thursday. Timothy completed the win with the second goal.

The two clubs were poooled in group B where the Ugandan finalists topped on a better goal advantage. Both finished with seven points while their group clash ended in a one all draw.

Copa Coca Cola winners Kibuli SS failed to complete the highly awaited all-Ugandan finals after falling to Kenya’s Barding Secondary School through a late goal in the 87th minute.

The loss means Kibuli will face the Kenyan side Bukembe in the third place playoffs in Saturday while Kitende tussle out with Barding. Both finalists lost their respective finals in the local championships.

In the girls category, Masaka S.S fell 1-0 to Rwanda’s GS Gimera Secondary School while St. John’s Kaloleni out smarted Wiyeta to book finals.

Masaka will face Wiyeta in the silver match tomorrow.
