Kenya’s Harambee Stars have safely landed in Ndola Zambia ahead of the final Group E match with the 2012 continental champions, the Chipolopolo on Saturday September 3. They arrived at 1440hrs aboard KQ586 and are expected back in Nairobi by Monday night.
Head coach Stanley Okumbi has opted not to alter the 20-man squad that had travelled to Kampala for Tuesday’s international friendly build up against the Uganda Cranes where the game ended goalless.
Both Chipolopolo and Harambee stars are out of the qualification path but Okumbi affirms that the team will go out to look for a win for better rankings as he continues to get a more stable team formulae.
“We have to go out there and get a win just like they defeated us at our own home. The team played well against Uganda just that we lacked the last touch and that’s what we shall be looking to polish in Zambia,” said Okumbi.
“I have looked at their squad and watched several games and can say they’re good but we have also been doing well so I expect a very balanced and interesting match I can say.”
