The Makindye General Court Martial has charged and remanded two UPDF officers attached to Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) program, who are alleged to have robbed Shs. 25 million from MBS Fruit Agencies in Kampala.
The two officers Captain William Mukajanga 32, and Lt Tito Kiggundu have been charged with Aggravated Robbery by Court Martial Chairman Lt Gen Andrew Gutti.
Prosecution alleges that on 2nd October 2015 these two and others at large at MBS Fruit Agency in Nalukolongo Rubaga Division Kampala District stole 25million shillings from Migadde Robert, the proprietor of Romis Wine by use of force.
They both denied the charges.
State Prosecutor Maj. Raphael Mugisha asked court for an adjournment on grounds that investigations are not yet complete; which the defense objected describing it as delayed justice for the accused.
Counsel Robert Bahuutu was irked that the two accused persons have been in custody for a period of
over ten months but the prosecution has not been able to finalize its investigations.
The matter has been adjourned up to 15th August 2016 when the duo is expected to apply for bail.
