Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye has Tuesday morning returned to the city center in Kampala, bringing business to the stand still.
Dr Besigye amidst heavy police deployment, held a massive procession along the Kampala Road and other busy streets.
This was only hours after he was released last night from detention at Jinja Road Police, where he was held and charged for disobeying police orders.
A similar case had just been dropped against him by the Chief Magistrates court in Makindye after prosecution failed to provide witnesses.
According to some of Besigye’s handlers, he was today returning from the Kampala High Court where he has instructions to report to every after two weeks, as part of his bail conditions for the Treason case.
Besigye seems to be utilizing the current yoke in the neck of the Uganda Police Force which recently came under scrutiny for its torture of his supporters when he had just been bailed out of Luzira Prison.
The Police has up to 9 of its officers being prosecuted before an internal tribunal for taking part in the beating of the civilian supporters of Besigye; while yesterday the Inspector General of Police was summoned by High Court over the same matter.
Parliament last week came out and condiment the acts of Police, while cautioning Besigye and his supporters to desit from activities that disrupt peace and stability.
