Police in Mbarara are hunting for a senior doctor at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital who is being blamed for the death a 30 year lady woman.
Julius Tushabe 36, a physician at the regional hospital and resident of Rubiri, Kakoba in Mbarara Municipality unsuccessfully conducted an abortion on Sarah Auma.
She reportedly bled to death at Kijungu Medicine and Community Health Clinic which is owned by the suspect.
Police says the doctor dumped the body in one of the renowned black spot forests around Mbarara on Tuesday.
The body was discovered by passersby by who called police that retrieved it. The police sniffer dogs led to the Dr Tushabe’s residence in Kakoba who is said to be on the run.
The body was taken to Mbarara referral hospital for postmortem.
DPC Jaffar Magezi confirmed while speaking to Chimpreports, that Ms Auma died during the abortion. He said police believes the doctor has been offering these services to other people at his clinic in the evening after his shift at the referral hospital.
