A female ministerial nominee has been rejected by the Appointments Committee of Parliament for possessing multiple birth dates on her academic papers.
ChimpReports has learnt that the state minister for Industries Harriet Ntabanzi found herself in trouble when the committee established that she had 3 birthdates.
According to sources who attended the closed door vetting, the lower education papers of Ntabanzi had 1972 as the year she was born.
Meanwhile her middle education certificate shows that she was born in 1973 while the university transcript has 1979.
“We were puzzled trying to figure out how a person could have been born in three different years. We couldn’t conclude her case,” a source said.
The variations in Ntabanzi’s date of birth made the committee to question the authenticity of her academic papers.
The Minister designate not only failed to explain the disparities but also the validity of these papers.
She reportedly went down on her knees and pleaded to be approved by the members but they weren’t convinced.
The state minister for Works designate Orot Ismael was also rejected by the Appointments Committee chaired by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga over non-corresponding academic papers.
Mr. Orot reportedly had four names in her papers. His earlier education has Christian names while the transcript has Muslim names.
A total of 3 ministers were rejected in the 3 days exercise. The first nominee to be rejected was Adrian Tibaleka, minister of state for Elderly and Disables. She was excluded for not being a registered voter even after laboring to explain that she participated in the NRM primary elections.
The state minister designate for Fisheries Ruth Acheng on the other hand was withdrawn after the NRM
leaders from Lango piled pressure on President Yoweri Museveni for two days.
