The Independent Electoral Commission has Friday afternoon made available all the Presidential Declaration of Results (DR) Forms to the lawyers of Amama Mbabazi, who filed a petition against the election before the Supreme Court.
The forms were handed to the lawyers at the Electoral Commission head offices along Jinja Road in Kampala.
This follows an order given yesterday by the Supreme Court Judges led by Chief Justice Bart Katureebe, to the lawyers of the electoral body to avail the documents.
One of Mbabazi’s lawyers, Muhammad Mbabazi told court that they needed the hard copies of the declaration forms signed by district returning officers, to compare with soft copies earlier provided to them.
Although they first contested the possibility of availing these forms before Saturday when the hearing of the case resumes, The EC lawyers this afternoon did table the piles of forms in their boardroom in the presence of media.
By publication time, Mbabazi lawyers were stilling going one by one through the copies.
According to the Commission spokesperson, Mr Jotham Taremwa, every single form was availed to the lawyers.
Among the team inspecting the forms was Hon Amama Mbabazi’s daughter Nina Mbabazi.
