The wife says she went to the police and paid  UGX 200,000 to settle the matter and her husband was released.

However the police officers came back demanding for an extra UGX 300,000 from Francis which he refused to pay.

On Friday morning the same officers came back and demanded for the money, compelling the deceased to run away from home toward River Rwizi as the officers chased him.

As he tried to cross the river, the crime preventers reportedly threw stones at him and injured him. He never came out of the water and his body has not been found yet.
