
Police in Mbarara are holding 4 men who were arrested with UPDF uniforms and are suspected to be criminals terrorizing different parts of Mbarara.
The Police Spokesperson for the Rwizi Region Samson Kasasira says the suspects were arrested on Monday night from the areas of Rutooma, Kashari along Mbarara-Ibanda road.
The police mouthpiece says these were found with knives and 2 pairs of the army uniform.
The arrested are Fred Twinomugisha from Ibanda; Darius Byamukama a bodaboda rider from Ishaka, Bushenyi, Benjamin Turyomumaisho and Nassan Bahowa, who was found with the uniforms.
Ironically, just a day after the arrest of the four, another group of assailants on a motorcycle attacked Nina bar found at Nombe Trading Center in Kashare, Kashari on Tuesday night and shot 3 people, killing one, while others were rushed to Mbarara Referral Hospital with serious injuries.
Police believes the shooters were in the same syndicate with the four arrested in Mbarara.
The bar owner Eva Gambamazima, who is also the mother of a 10year old who was injured in the shooting says the thugs arrived at around 11;00pm and said they were going to kill 5 people before they opened fire.

She says, she tried to convince them with Shs 75,000 but they rejected it and went on with the shooting. Afterwards they left with 4 phones, 2DVDs, a subwoofer and bottles of beers.
The deceased has been identified as David Katehangwa, 34, who was shot in the chest. The other two admitted at Mbarara Hospital are Evalyne Nyaikiriza and 10 year old Blair Ashemerirwe.
An officer from the Police Flying Squad who spoke anonymously said the criminal gang is new in the area and had just stolen 4 cars in Mbarara.
The officer says a serious manhunt is on for the remnants.
