Uganda Cup 2017
Express 0-0 KCCA FC
KCCA FC advice 3-2 on aggregate
Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club have booked a berth into the finals of this year’s Uganda Cup after edging past Express.
The game almost failed to take place with Express players protesting to take to the pitch before their arrears are settled.
It took a late intervention from Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi for players to honour the game but others like Yayo Lutimba refused.
In the return leg played on Tuesday at Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku, the two sides settled for a baller draw.
KCCA FC created several chances but were wasteful on day failing to put away the several chances created.
Derrick Nsibambi, Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Tom Masiko all came close to scoring but were denied by goal keeper Emmanuel Opio who was brilliant on the day.
Express on the other hand had couple of chances through Noah Ssemakula but were not sharp enough in the final third of the field.
The result means KCCA FC progress to the semifinals where they will play Paidha Black Angels who edged past Sadolin Paints.
The final of this year’s Uganda Cup is slated for 10th June at Green light Stadium in Arua District.
