Uganda Cup 2017
Semifinal, return leg
Express FC vs KCCA FC

With the league title already under their possession, KCCA FC target at the moment is to try to win the elusive domestic double that has for ages continued to be a dream.

KCCA FC carry a 3-2 lead into the semifinal against Express and the hope is that they can get a positive result at Wanulukuku that will help them book a berth into the finals.

Team manager, Mike Mutebi is aware of the task ahead of him but rather insists there will not be a change in game approach because they want to reach the finals.

“We will not mortgage our identity because we want to defend the lead that we got in the first leg. It will be a tough game but I insist we shall stick to our style of play,” he said.

On the other hand, Express FC coach Matia Lule is confident his team can overturn the first leg deficit and reach the finals.

“We put up a good fight in the first leg more so in the second half and that gave us the confidence that we can get a good result at home. We are set and ready to make sure we edge past KCCA FC,” said a confident Lule.

KCCA FC will miss the services of defender Timothy Awany who is out due to card accumulation while youngsters Allan Okello, Mustapha Kiiza and Julius Poloto are all cap tied.

Express will also miss key players in skipper Musa Mukasa who is suspended for card accumulation while Allan Kyambadde who scored in the first leg is sidelined with an injury.

The winner on aggregate takes on Paidha Black Angels who are already in the finals after eliminating Sadolin Paints 3-2 on aggregate. The final is slated for 10th June at Greenlight stadium.
