
The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) National Youth Chairperson, Brenda Atim Kinyera has been arrested in connection to the murder of Gulu Deputy Town Clerk, John Oola.
Mr. Oola was attacked and killed in Gulu town on Tuesday morning after dropping a female friend. The attackers pulled him from the vehicle strangled and beat him to death near the gate where he had just dropped the lady that police has identified as Alice Kipwola.
Mrs. Kipwola was immediately arrested by the police to help in the investigations.
ChimpReports learned on Sunday morning that Police has also picked Atim concerning the same case and she is being detained at Gulu Central Police Station.
According to sources Atim had talked to the deceased two days before he was killed.
“The phone print out confirmed that Atim spoke to the late on Sunday. She is taken to help in the investigations,” a security source in Gulu said.
Meanwhile another security source told that the arrest of Atim was not only because she communicated to him some days before but there was a relationship between her and Oola.
“Obviously Mr. Oola spoke to very many people including on Monday when he was active in the office. The two were an item.”
When contacted on phone to confirm the arrest and detention of Atim, the Aswa Regional Police Spokesman, Jimmy Patrick Okema said he was still in a meeting and would call us later.
