
Police in Masaka are holding two women alleged to have attempted to bribe the Town clerk Masaka Municipal Council Innocent Ahimbisibwe.
The heads of a local church, police says were netted while handing the Clerk a Shs 300,000 cash bribe.
A police official identified the two as Pastor Beatrice Wasa of Good news church located in Mutuba- Musisi zone Katwe Butego division Masaka municipality and her colleague Dorothy Nabukeera a member of the same church.
Police says the suspects wanted the town clerk to approve the construction of a perimeter wall around their church.
The two are detained at Masaka Central Police Station on charges of Bribery of a public officer against Section 5 of the Anti-corruption Act.
