FDC’s Col Dr Kizza Besigye has been barred from visiting controversial Makerere University researcher Dr Stella Nyazi, who spent the weekend in police custody.
Dr Nyanzi is being charged with Cyber Harassment and Offensive Communication, following her obscenity laced attacks on the First Family recently.
Police upon her arrest, blocked journalists and any other members of the public from accessing her at Kiira Division Police where she is being held. Only family members and her lawyers would be allowed to visit her according to police.
“She loves talking to the press, so we advise you not to try to talk to her at the police station because our officers will not let you,” Kampala Metropolitan Police mouthpiece Emilian Kayima warned reporters shortly after the arrest.
FDC’s Col Besigye today attempted to go check on the mortar mouthed educationist and ardent supporter but without success.
Flanked by his aides including FDC’s Mobilization Mrs Ingrid Turinawe, Besigye was stopped outside outside the station.
Nyanzi is expected to be taken to an undisclosed court today for trial.
