Express FC got back their winning touch as they edged struggling Kirinya Jinja SSS 1-0 in a cagey affair played at the Kakindu stadium in Jinja.
Kakooza Mahad Yaya scored the lone goal just two minutes into the second period. Keeper Emmanuel Opiyo cleared a long ball which was brushed and fell in front of Opiyo who beat his marker and advanced to the edge of the box and slotted a low cross to beat an onrushing Opiyo.
“We have now got our groove back and hope to keep this form into the next games,” Express FC coach Matia Lule said.
Jinja SSS had several half chances cleared away as the visitors characterized the remaining minutes with endless medical stoppages.
The victory moves Express to places up to Seventh with 27 points while Kirinya remain in the relegation fight.
