Over 50 passengers were Thursday morning injured in an accident along the Kabale- Kisoro High Way when a Kampala bound bus overturned.
Head of Police in Rubanda District Fred Wamunga says that the accident happened at around 8am after bus registration number UAV 119U, of the Bismarkan bus company lost control at Mubwindi in Muko sub county Rubanda district and overturned.
Wamunga says most of the passengers were seriously injured although no lives were lost at the scene. The injured have been rushed to Kabale Regional referral hospital.
The police boss blamed the accident on possible fatigue and reckless driving on the part of the driver, who is currently on the run and is being hunted.
This is the second accident in a week’s time to happen along the road. Last week the Rubanda district LC5 vice chairman Silver Baguma survived death after his vehicle swerved off the road and rolled down a cliff.
