Bunyoro King Reshuffles Cabinet

The Omukama of Bunyoro Kingdom, Dr Solomon Gafabusa Iguru, has reshuffled his cabinet and dropped five of his ministers.

In a Monday’s reshuffle announced by Jonan Atuhuura, the Omukama’s Principle Private Secretary, Harriet Businge Mugenyi has bounced back as the 1st Deputy Premier and Minister for Information while Edgar Agaba was appointed as the kingdom Attorney General.

Other new appointees include Oscar Baitwa as 2nd deputy premier and minister for lands and special duties, Jeff B-Baitwa is appointed minister for Oil and Gas, energy and mineral development, Dianah Jane Mugenyi as minister for education while Allan Bamuha has been promoted to full minister for works.

Those dropped include Paul Kato, former kingdom minister for works, Eugene Vigir former minister for Education, Xavier Kiiza former 1st deputy premier and minister for lands, Ashraf Mugenyi, former deputy minister for culture and palace affairs, Josh Wamara, former speaker among others.

Those who retained their positions include the kingdom prime minister Norman Lukumu, Johnan Atuhura as principle private secretary of the Omukama, Ronald Isagara as 3rd deputy premier, Evelyn Turumanya as minister for palace affairs, Hajj Bruhan Kyakuhairwe as minister for culture, Francis Mugerwa as minister for ICT and Kingdom public relations, Joy Catherine Byenkwa as minister for health and gender, Proscovia Bamutura as minister for Trade and Investment.
