The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Ramadhan Shaban Mubajje yesterday blasted Ibanda Muslim Council for misusing the funds given to them by President Yoweri Museveni in 2014, for the construction of offices of the District Khadhi.
The Mufti was unhappy that the council had nothing to show for the said money and wondered what they would tell the President if he asked how they sent it.
While visiting the area, the President donated Shs. 10million to the construction project, and at the fundraiser, about 22 million was collected.
But Mufti Mubajje was disappointed that the Muslims had never added another brick in the house since 2014.
In their defense however, the council through its spokesperson Karim Sentamu said they spent the money they were given on debts.
The structure apparently needs Shs. 114million to be completed.
