Defending champions and table leaders KCCA FC will have lady luck to thank for bagging all the 3 points against BUL FC in the Azam Uganda Premier League at the Philip Omondi Stadium on Tuesday.
A goal in either half of the game ensured the unconvincing Kasasiro Boys consolidated their league at the summit of Uganda’s top flight league.
The home side opened the scoring just 3 minutes after the start of the game with prodigal son Geoffrey Sserunkuma tapping in a Habib Kavuma header from a corner.
The defending champions had a series of attacks to the visitors’ goal but the former looked blunt and on a number of occasions missed putting the ball at the back of the net.

BUL in the second half had many moments to rejoice about as those to cry about after coming closer to scoring but the hosts’ custodian Charles Lukwago who was having his debut league game in between KCCA FC’s sticks was always the savior.
Yuda Mugalu, David Bagoole and Yunus Sibira had many questions to ask for KCCA’s shot stopper, but the later rose to the occasion.
In the 60th minute, the worst came for the visitors who left a man less after their goal keeper Brian Bwete was shown marching orders for handling the ball outside the 18-yard box by the centre referee.
The team from Jinja would later bring in new catch Eric Dhaira in between the sticks but the young goal keeper was welcomed by a picking the ball from his net after a well taken free kick by Muzamiru Mutyaba and ensuring the home side maintained their lead.

Speaking to journalists in the post-match press conference, KCCA FC assistant coach Morley Byekwaso was full of praise for the visitors whom he said were more prepared for the game.
“We didn’t play as expected and to speak the truth, they(BUL) were more prepared that us,” Byekwaso said.
The win ensured the Lugogo based side consolidated their lead at the helm of the league with 35 points whereas record league champions SC Villa are second on 32 points after being held to a draw by Bright Stars.
