The Public Service Commission (PSC) under the Ministry of Public Service has ordered the Rukungiri District Service Commission (DSC) to rescind promotions of 4 district officers to higher post.
Dr. John Geoffrey Mbabazi , the Secretary Public Service Commission directed the Rukungiri CAO Milton Kato to re-designate the 4 officers back to their previous positions due their lack of academic qualifications for the promotions.
The DSC had promoted Fatiima Kamanzi from District Information Officer to Senior
Assistant Secretary, Kahumuza Nicholas Kooli from Community Development Officer to Senior Assistant Secretary, Silvia Kemigisha formerly Community Development Officer to Senior Assistant Secretary, and Evas Kobutungi from Development Officer to Senior Assistant Secretary
Dr Mbabazi however ordered that new appointments of Mutungi .W.K. Katirimba as senior human resource officer and Dan Turyamureeba as human resource officer from community development officer to be upheld.
The PSC boss also ordered disciplinary action against the DSC secretary Stanley Munabi for failing to guide the district commission not to promote unqualified persons.
The orders follow a petition by the Rukungiri LC5 chairman Andrewson Katebire to the PSC on the questionable promotions.
