Rwanda National Police (RNP) has intercepted and impounded two cars and a motorcycle in Kigali which are believed to have been stolen and have been on Interpol list of stolen vehicles.

A land cruiser TX, Registration Number UAS 966W and a Mercedes benz, with a personalized plate in the name ‘Lwasa 4’ are believed to have been stolen from South Africa and Japan while the motorcycle was stolen from the United Kingdom.

The news was revealed by Uganda’s ambassador to Rwanda, H.E Richard Kabonero who was handed the vehicles for return to Uganda for further investigation.

“I have received these vehicles that were recovered by Rwanda National Police today in Kigali.  I have handed them over to Uganda Police for further investigation into how they were registered in Uganda in spite of being on the Interpol list of stolen vehicles,” Kabonero told ChimpReports on Tuesday evening.

The two vehicles, according to Ambassador Kabonero were handed over at Rwanda National Police Headquarters in Kigali, Rwanda.

Kabonero commended the RNP for “cooperation with our police in recovering stolen vehicles.”
