
Police in Kabale district has arrested a 35 year old man for brutally assaulting his 10 year old son.
Gerevazio Tushabomwe, a bicycle Boda-Boda rider is a resident of Rwakaraba cell Northern division Kabale municipality.
Tushabomwe reportedly beat his son (names withheld) using a panga, accusing him of watching music from a neighbor’s television screen.
The boy, who is a P4 pupil Kijuguta Primary School narrates that on 3rd November last week, his father beat him using a panga and he was saved by neighbors who heard him screaming.
ASP Elizabeth Ainembabazi the In-charge of Child and Family Protection Unit Kabale police station says that they received a report from administrators of Kijuguta primary school this week who reported that the boy had a lot wounds.
She says that police intervened and arrested Tushabomwe, and his file has been sent to resident state attorney to prefer charges against him.
Tushabomwe admits that he beat his son using a panga, but only because he sold a mobile phone.
