Kapeeka Water Works Project to be Completed by December – NWSC

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has revealed that the Kapeeka water works project is already 90 percent complete and will be finished by December.

The revelation was made on Saturday morning as the State Minister for Water, Hon. Ronald Kibuule was inspecting the project works.

Hon. Kibuule lauded NWSC for fast tracking works citing that it will come as an early Christmas gift for the people of Kapeeka.

The minister said he was further impressed that the project is internally funded by the Corporation.

“This shows that NWSC is building capacity to do things on its own and I further commend NWSC for the rapid execution of the project. This is an early Christmas gift for the people of Kapeeka, Semuto and the surrounding areas,” he said.

The project which aims to serve safe water to the communities of Koona Kirak, Kyelerezi, Singo Army Barracks, Kapeeka town and the proposed Industrial Park in Kapeeka, encompasses a water intake, water treatment plant, storage reservoirs and associated transmision and distribution pipelines.

According to NWSC officials, the project will cost the Corporation Ushs 10 billion, financed internally from the money paid by customers who pay their bills promptly.
