Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu has set November 8 for the ruling on a prima facie case where former Old Kampala DPC SP Jorum Mwesigye is accused of assaulting Andrew Lwanga, a former WBS TV Journalist in January 2015.

Before setting the ruling date, the magistrate declined to accept a medical report which was conducted on Lwanga by Dr Vaal Prarad in his absence as the state prosecutor Patricia Kintho had requested.

The magistrate declined the report on grounds that prosecution failed to prove that Dr. Vaal could not be brought to court to testify.

She then set the 4th November as the date for final submissions by the defense; and November 11 for State to reply; warning that she will proceed with the ruling if either side fail to keep the dates.

Immediately after court session, Andrew Lwanga told fellow journalists that he is in fear as there is a group of people trailing his movements, with unknown intentions.

“Wherever I am coming to court there are people trailing me but don’t come in court. As soon as I move out of court premises they follows me which has made my life so uncomfortable.”

Lwanga added that he has reported this matter to various authorities to ensure that they help him out of this problem.
